COSTA RICA - BLOG I

Recently I have spent a month living in Conscious Community “Brave Earth”- Tierra Valiente in Costa Rica.

“BRAVE EARTH” is a Conscious Community that build up a Model for Regenerative living.

Mission

Is to create a new type of model, a living laboratory, in service to regeneration that is decentralized, resilient, and replicable.

Vision

To help create a network of communities around the World that are united through shared values in order to create a more unified Global field.

Values

Values outline their core ethics and how they conduct themselves in service to the collective field.

1.Reciprocity and Generosity

Striving to always give more than we take.

2. Primacy of the commons

Stewardship not ownership

3.Direct Democracy

Democracy - We create participatory decision-making and non-hierarchical structures in social realms whenever possible."

4.Local Resilience - If we engage in commercial enterprise, we create cooperatively-owned economic engines and strive for bio-regional self-sufficiency."

5. Ecological Symbiosis

We are in active dialogue with Gaia, asking for permission, living in offering and implementing on biomimetic and regenerative approaches where possible.

6. Divine Play

We hold the highest aim of doing this work while remaining in a state of presence and play

7.Empathy & Solidarity

We create community, not to isolate ourselves, but to support human and more-than-human life.

8.Bhu Hum

Sanskrit for “Earth I Am”. We live in awareness of our non-separation to all other aspects of Life and strive to create the upward spiral of regeneration.

In this Blog I would Love to share couple of Contemplations that we have discussed and dived deep in to emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically, in the circle around the fire with my Soul Brother Alnoor Ladha.

Alnoor’s work focuses on the intersection of political organizing, systems thinking, structural change, and narrative work. He was the co-founder and Executive Director of The Rules (TR), a global network of activists, organizers, designers, coders, researchers, writers, and others focused on changing the rules that create inequality, poverty, and climate change. Alnoor comes from a Sufi lineage and writes about the crossroads of politics and spirituality in troubled times.

* Contemplations *

1.From materialist to animistic world views/practices/ways of seeing and being

2.From private property/ownership to radical hospitality/stewardship

3.From rationalism to relationalsm ( "There is no objective truth, there is only the quality of your relationships" - David Abram)

4.From knowing/certainty to humility/wonder ( "Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment." - Rumi)

5.From monoculture to polyculture (multiple, simultaneous, syntropic approaches to knowledge/being/doing)

6.From domination to dialogue (with the natural world but also the material world)

7.From innovation/novelty to restoration/healing ( not chasing the next new thing without addressing historical injustices/traumas)

8.From grief as distraction to get over to grief as Sacred honoring ("Grief is praise by another name" - Martin Prechtel)

9.From entitlement to entanglement ("You are entrusted with everything and entitled to nothing." - Sufi proverb attributed to the Great Mother)

10.From Commodification to Godification

( At the highest level, there is only one of us here having an experience through distributed cognition. Allah/God is consciousness itself distributed through all Life and becoming self-aware through you. One cannot commodify something that is not separate from you).

These are not switches or levers in the mind. They are practices and rememberings to be with.

They require exercising atrophied cognitive/spiritual muscle.

Love
